A superbly equipped cottage, probably the best we've ever stayed in. The cottage always felt warm and welcoming, despite the weather. Liz and Andrew were perfect hosts, always available, but never intrusive.

A delightful cottage with wonderful views from the patio. The cottage is so tastefully furnished & we have never rented a place which has so much provided. Lots of little extras. The owners are friendly, but not intrusive. The cottage is on a hill (hence the lovely view) & the area is hilly so, if walking is a problem, you would definitely need a car to get around. We enjoyed the walking. Pubs serving food are about a mile & half away.

A beautiful and eco friendly place to stay with a magnificent view of the peaks and every amenity possible. The description provided by the owners, who couldn't do enough to supply what we needed, was perfectly acurate. Without being instrusive they provided a sense of knowledgeable presence, in what otherwise could have felt a magnificent but isolated space. Loved our short stay and would really like to return. Great for those who love to make retreats too. Thank you both! — Dorothy, 10 May 2019

A beautiful, clean, well equipped cottage in a fantastic location for exploring the area. The views down the valley are beautiful. The hosts think of many home comforts to make it a stress free stay. Would highly recommend this cottage.

We enjoyed our stay here very much - beautiful view, comfortable and well equipped cottage, warm welcome. One of the best we've ever been to. Thank you for delicious eggs, marmalade, cookies and fruit. — Cosyns family from Belgium, 01 Aug 2016
A lovely time had, Great biscuits - thanks Liz for providing the recipe. — Karen & Kevin, Eileen & Nora from Inverness and Ipswich, 09 Jul 2016
Top Eccles Farm is a perfect base for exploring the Peak District and places further afield such as Jodrell Bank. The views from the Farm are stunning and the location is ideal, tucked away on the pike outside Chapel-en-le-Frith, which has all the amenities you need. Liz and Andrew are friendly and helpful hosts. The Barn is a clean, warm and cosy place to relax and enjoy. Thank you for a great Easter holiday. — Mike Phillips, 02 Jul 2016
Warm welcome, delicious cake, eggs and marmalade; great views; comfy bed; helpful advice; stunning scenery; lovely varied walks; lovely paintings. We had a great time & enjoyed some sun - as well as rain, hail and at least 3 types of snow!
Far too much to do in a week - we will have to come back & walk the ridges in less wind. Loved all the snowdrops too. Thank you!

Checked in a Miss and checked out a Mrs!
The perfect cottage to prepare for and begin my marriage with my wonderful husband!
A cosy cottage with stunning views - just what we wanted, a fabulous time was had!

We very much appreciate you eco approach and philosophy. The raspberries, potatoes, garlic, salads all from the "cottage garden" really unique! The herbs were used for a nice BBQ with delicious lamb from the region. This is our first time in the UK and it set the standards and expectations for the future. A shame this beautiful part of Europe is so unknown! And what a welcome and hospitality! music, cookies... Warm regards. — Greet, Johan, Tibo & Anouk, Belgium, 03 Aug 2014
Thank you so much for providing such a wonderful home for our holiday.
The children are sad to leave and we have promised to come back next year.
There is so much to do in the area and all the books and leaflets were a great help. We visited Manchester (Lowry and MOSI), Buxton (Pavillion Gardens), Pooles Cavern and we flew the kites on Eccles Pike on our last evening. Fantastic Fun!!

Thank you for a lovely week and your warm welcome. We enjoyed trips to Chatsworth, Lyme Park and Eyam - so interesting. Also enjoyed Bakewell and Buxton. Walking on the hills behind the cottage bring even more beautiful views. We've been entertained by the alpacas and chickens, whilst eating on the patio and enjoying the incredible view. — Keith, Caroline & Alex, Worcestershire, 18 Jul 2014
Many thanks for your outstanding hospitality. All the extras were most welcome, especially the cake!!
An exceptional holiday cottage with so many extras. Weather perfect.

We've really enjoyed our 5 days in Barn Meadow. You made us feel so welcome and the fruit cake and extras were lovely extra touches. We hoped to do some more walking but the weather has been too wild, wet and windy. Another time perhaps....We hope 2014 is a good year for you.

Thank you so much for your warm hospitality during our Christmas break. Barn Meadow has truly exceeded our expectations, you should be very proud! From the welcome gift of Christmas cake to the treasure trove of walking guides, every day has been a treat. Perhaps above all else, the sustainability focus of not just the property but you as well has made this a truly memorable stay. — Michael and Joe, 23 Dec 2013
Truly superb accomodation with everything one would need. We appreciated the very warm and friendly greeting. It is refreshing to meet people so in tune with the planet. Loved the alpacas.

Thank you so much again for alovely week in your lovely cottage. Grace has had a wonderful time and managed her first walk here this week! She must be telling us something about being back in Derbyshire. It's such a wonderful place to stay and your hospitality and pateience with our 'failed' visits has been very generous. We hope to visit again and maybe one day get a place up here too! — Victoria, James and Grace , 21 Sep 2013
Barn Meadow is a lovely comfortable cottage with everything we needed. Great views and the alpacas made it even better. The weather could have been better but it didn't stop us getting out and having a good time. The homemade cake was delicious. — Linda and Mark , 14 Sep 2013
