Top Eccles Farm is located between Whaley Bridge and Chapel-en-le-Frith, just off the B5470.

Top Eccles Farm is located a short walk from the village of Whaley Bridge, on the edge of the Peak District National Park and the Goyt Valley. In the village there are a variety of pubs (some having live entertainment at weekends), restaurants, takeaways, convenience stores, hairdressers and a supermarket.

There are also an excellent rail and bus links, with a regular bus service to Manchester International Airport, Stockport, Manchester and Buxton.

Directions

From M1 Motorway: Leave M1 at exit 29, go to Chesterfield, then on A619 to BASLOW. Following the Stockport and A6 signs, take A623 to CHAPEL EN LE FRITH. On the outskirts of Chapel en le frith, just before the dual carriageway, take the left exit to Chapel en le Frith. Follow the B5470 though the town, you will pass Morrisons on your right where you will go straight across a mini roundabout, follow the road up the hill past the shops and the market square on your right. Pass under the railway bridge, take the right hand turning signed Whitehough and Chinley (Crossings Road). Continue for 400 meters then turn left into Eccles Road, signed Hilltop and Eccles Pike Topograph. Continue up Eccles Road (single track with passing places); continue over the summit of Eccles Pike, for about 400 meters, Top Eccles Farm is the first house on the right hand side. There is a sign at the bottom of the drive. From Chesterfield to the farm takes around 45 minutes.

From the M6 Motorway: Leave the M6 at junction 17 and go to MACCLESFIELD via the A534 and A536. Follow Stockport/Buxton signs across Macclesfield. At Tesco roundabout go straight across and follow white sign for B5470 to Chapel-en-le-frith. Travel 8 miles via Hurdsfield, Rainow and Kettleshulme to traffic lights on outskirts of Whaley Bridge. Go straight across, still on B5470, take the first left into Eccles Road, just after The Drum and Monkey pub. Follow the road around to the right and then the left, straight up the hill and after the lane turns sharp right at the top, carry on for about 1 mile (keep going past Milton Cottage and the Sycamores and a further farm and cottage). Top Eccles Farm is the last house on the left hand side, there is a sign. You will either have to reverse up the drive or you can go to the top of the hill and turn round to drive up forwards. From motorway to farm is approx 1hr or 20mins from Macclesfield.

From Manchester & Liverpool (including airports) etc: Follow the signs for Stockport and Buxton which will take you onto the A6 on the far side of Stockport. Continue on the A6 though Hazel Grove, Disley and Furness Vale until you reach a roundabout. Turn right to Whaley Bridge, carry on through the village past the shops, continue to Horwich End Traffic lights (there is a small row of shops here). Turn left onto the B5470; take the first left into Eccles Road, just after The Drum and Monkey pub. Follow the road around to the right and then the left, straight up the hill and after the lane turns sharp right at the top by Horwich Farm, carry on for about 1/2 mile (keep going past Ollerenshaw Hall, Seven Oaks, Milton Cottage and the Sycamores and a further farm and cottage). Top Eccles Farm is the last house on the left hand side, there is a hanging sign. You will either have to reverse up the drive or you can go to the top of the hill and turn round to drive up forwards. Parking is on your right but please feel free to park outside the holiday cottage to unload. It is just across the yard from the house so we will hear you come.From Stockport to the farm takes 30 mins out of rush hour.

From Ashbourne and the A50: Follow the A515 to Buxton. Continue straight on at the traffic lights (5 way junction by the pub). Carry straight on through the upper town, down the hill past the Council Offices on your left, at the roundabout (opposite the Palace Hotel) turn left up Long Hill to Whaley Bridge A5004, follow this road through Fernilee to Whaley Bridge. At the traffic lights turn right to Chapel en le Frith B5470; take the first left into Eccles Road, just after The Board Inn pub. Follow the road around to the right and then the left, straight up the hill and after the lane turns sharp right at the top, carry on for about 1 mile (keep going past Milton Cottage and the Sycamores and a further farm and cottage). Top Eccles Farm is the last house on the left hand side, there is a sign. You will either have to reverse up the drive or you can go to the top of the hill and turn round to drive up forwards.
